Project Abstract

The Blood Utilization Collaborative is collection of health care organizations banding together to share de-identified blood usage information in order to assess community practice within Minnesota and eastern North Dakota.

To improve patient care and safety while protecting limited blood product resources

 

Charter

Creation of a common set of measures and terms for collection of
blood usage data among collaborative participants

To develop systems to share and report data and information

To develop a community standard to assist in the appropriate use
of blood product resources

Discussion and development of innovative strategies for blood use

Creation of a "Best Practice" model for blood product use in individual case types/DRGs based on local, regional and national studies
